ANTIPOLO PART 2 – Vieux Chalet: Love at First Bite

As a continuation of our anniversary escapade in Antipolo City, Edwin and I sneaked out for a while during our stay at Luljetta’s Hanging Gardens to have our dinner at Vieux Chalet Swiss Restaurant.

Vieux Chalet Swiss Restaurant

Vieux Chalet is a house turned into a restaurant so it was no surprise that the interior is quaint and homey. The lighted candles, mellow tunes, and the view overlooking the city added a romantic touch to the dining experience. We arrived before twilight so we were able to witness the transition from sunset to city lights. It was no doubt the perfect choice for an intimate dinner.

For some reason when we eat out, we usually end up choosing the same food on the menu. He gives in most of the time and orders a different one instead so we can share and taste both. Win-win! This time though it did not matter having exactly the same food so we both ordered Fettuccine Padilla and Lemongrass Iced Tea.

Fettuccine Padilla (P275.00) and a refreshing Lemongrass Iced Tea

10848861_10152531714845248_4744725615764105696_oVieux Chalet describes Fettuccine Padilla as a “homemade fettuccine in a rich fresh cream sauce with homemade smoked ham, organic oyster mushroom, shiitake mushroom, and homemade ricotta cheese”. I mean who would not choose that? Haha. The thing is, the serving was quite too many for my liking that I regretted not sharing and ordering another swiss cuisine. Surely a reason for us to come back. 😉 10308074_10152531715665248_2919388720874115980_n 10930096_10152531718495248_5000419389666430471_n We ordered the Five-Cheese Grilled Pizza as well and I am not exaggerating when I say I instantly fell in love at first bite. The menu cites that it consists of “raclette, gruyere, mozzarella, kesong puti and cheddar cheese with garlic and basil or cilantro on a tangy cream cheese base, topped with organic arugula”. The description does not even do it justice, it was beyond delicious!
