AUSTRALIA – The Best Place to go Skydiving

I’ve always been a thrill seeker and an adrenaline junkie, so I was on cloud nine for finally checking the number 1 item off my bucket list which was skydiving last August 2019 in Sydney, Australia.
After a 4-year hiatus, I am finally blogging again! The pandemic has restricted everyone to travel, but it has pushed me to try out new activities and also spend time again on things that I’m passionate about, and one of them is writing. 🙂
Given that, this is apparently a long overdue post. Last 2017, I accomplished one of my ultimate goals: to travel solo! I impulsively booked a flight in February 2017 because I was having a quarter-life crisis, and I thought traveling alone would help me figure things out (It did not haha!). After 2 months, I found myself sitting on a plane headed to Taiwan, a country that I had never visited before.
Macau on the south coast of China is called the Las Vegas of the East because it is widely known as a huge gambling centre in Asia. But there’s more to it than the glamour of luxurious casinos and fancy poker chips. It reflects a harmonious blend of Eastern and Western cultural influences since it used to be a Portuguese colony for more than 3 centuries. Enjoy the best of both Chinese and Portuguese cultures as you dive into a coexistence of traditions, cuisines, architectures, and languages.

I thought I could last without traveling but I keep falling under its spell! This time, I blame it on Hong Kong and Macau. This was my boyfriend and I’s first international trip together. I’ve already been to Hong Kong last 2012 but I really didn’t do much then except going to the markets and Ocean Park. It didn’t give a lasting impression on me so I never had the intention of going back. However, I’ve been longing to visit a Disneyland Resort so I could turn my childhood dream into a reality. I decided to go to the one in Hong Kong which is the most accessible from the Philippines. I figured that I might as well include Macau since it’s only an hour away from Hong Kong via ferry. I’m glad I went back to Hong Kong because it was sweeter to me the second time around!
Travel scams are common nearly everywhere around the world, and gullible tourists are more inclined to fall for these despicable schemes. My friends and I just came across a clever and well-rehearsed scam in Yogyakarta, Indonesia where we were persuaded to go to a specific place because the attractions we wanted to visit were “closed” as claimed by the scammer. Avoid being a victim by having a thorough research about your destination and being careful of overfriendly locals.
When I travel, I make sure to plan ahead simply because I want to visit as many places as I can. However, traveling without an itinerary still make my spontaneous heart flutter. When my best friends – Espee and Lea – and I decided to take our summer vacation in Malaysia and Indonesia for a week without any plans at all, I couldn’t be more ecstatic! Our first 2 days was spent in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.

Last summer, I took a spontaneous vacation for a week with my best friends of more than a decade, Espee and Lea. It involved 2 days in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; 2 days in Yogyakarta, Indonesia; and 3 days in Jakarta, Indonesia. Our original plan was simply a domestic trip before Espee leaves for school abroad. But one day, we just went all YOLO and had a spur-of-the-moment decision. A week later, we found ourselves in the countries of Malaysia and Indonesia.
Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar is a 400 hectare open-air museum and heritage park in Bagac, Bataan where neglected architectural pieces were restored by its owner, José “Gerry” Acuzar. The park provides restaurants, a beach, a swimming pool, calesa rides, tours, workshops, event bookings, and 27 Spanish casas (houses) that also serve as hotel accommodations.
Oakwood Premier Joy~Nostalg Center was my first staycation hotel this 2016 or in my 24 years of existence for that matter. It is a serviced apartment located in Ortigas Center, Pasig City, Philippines, with 229 units ranging from 41sqm to 185sqm.

My trip to South Korea with my high school friend, Mon, involved 11 days of touring Seoul (with day trips to Paju, Anyang, and Gapyeong), Danyang, Busan, and Jeju. On our fifth day in Seoul, we managed to make room for a trip to Gyeonggi-do specifically at Nami Island, Petite France, and The Garden of Morning Calm in Gapyeong.
